Seymour Duncan SSL-2 Duncan Vintage Flat Pole for Strat - Middle, RWRP, No Cover

The Vintage Flat for Stratocaster uses the same hand ground alnico 5 rod magnets and heavy Formvar mag wire as the Vintage Flat Strat pickup, but is made RWRP (reverse wind, reverse polarity) so that when combined with the neck or bridge pickups, will cancel the hum and produce that classic in-between Strat quack. On its own it will give you the same bright, crisp tone that you get from the standard wound model. Combine with an SSL-2 in the neck and bridge for a complete, balanced set. Aside from the flat pole pieces, Seymour Duncan uses the same materials to build these as they do for all of their vintage Fender style single coil pickups. They start by assembling the bobbins with the proper color and thickness of hand filed Forbon flatwork and alnico 5 magnets. Then they lacquer their bobbins just as it was done during Fenders Golden Age. This pickup is wax potted and comes complete with waxed and tinned cloth pushback hook-up wires and traditional keyed bottom plate.
